Limited two CD French pressing of the 2008 album from the Indonesian Pop princess. Produced by Tefa & Masta, Elevation includes some international collaborations including one with Pras (The Fugees). Anggun was born in Jakarta and became the most popular artist in Indonesia by the time she had reached 17. She then moved to Europe and began working with hit producers and songwriters, achieving even greater success. Warner.

Diversity anyone? - Well I personally think the album has potential. Even though she is trying new styles she is still an amazingly spectacular performer which is why I will always support her. This album is a fresh new way to look and listen to anggun and yet she is still sophisticated and is just letting herself go. I do agree that her old stuff is excellent too but maybe thats what makes anggun, anggun because she can do anything and it suits her just fine.

What A Disappointment--Pictures Are Great Though - If you re looking for more of the serious-minded forays of world music fused with highbrow pop that were common on her earlier discs, Sorry-- it s not here. The last decade has seen Anggun be one of the few torch-bearers for the mantle Kate Bush/Annie Lennox/Sade used to put forth before the entire music biz slid in the 90s, and coming from someone who also looked great was that much more enjoyable. This disc sounds mostly like a Euro/French version of Beyonce with a lot of programmed drums. Dancable yes, but dancing is for morons--her Nom De La Lune right up to Evanescence had some really spectacular listening going for them. There s plenty of junk out there already to dance to (Justin Timerlake, Beyonce, Britney, blah blah blah), but precious little that s worth really listening to. Anggun stuff should be listened to--seriously--she s been that good before. And please, Warner, don t dig up something truly great (like Garde Moi from the last time) and stick it on a New Improved version of Elevation 6 months from now. I won t buy it. It ll be easier to just download, or...better yet, get together another dozen tracks of really quality Anggun material and come out with a whole new disc. We ll wait. Maaf, Anggun, saya minta baik musik, silahkan, tidak Europop.
